Hi Parents!

Missions Camp is almost here, and we are so excited! Next week, your child will have the opportunity to see what missions looks like right here in Arkansas. Our prayer is that they leave knowing they don't have to wait until they're older to make a difference for Jesus—they can start now.

Throughout the week, we'll be learning about different missions and ministries while serving, asking questions, and meeting people who have dedicated their lives to sharing the Gospel. Each child will receive their own Missions Camp workbook on Tuesday morning that they'll use throughout the week as we visit each ministry.

Camp Times

  • Drop-Off: 9:00 AM in Jam Town

  • Pick-Up: 4:00 PM in Jam Town

We'll provide transportation, lunch, snacks, and everything needed for each day's activities.

Tuesday – Arkansas Baptist Children's Home

We'll kick off camp by learning about Lottie Moon and why missions matter around the world. Then we'll head to the Arkansas Baptist Children's Home in Monticello where our kids will tour the campus, spend time with the children who live there, enjoy lunch together, and spend the afternoon swimming. It's always one of my favorite days because our kids get to build relationships while learning how God is using this ministry to care for children and families. We will be eating corndog nuggets for lunch.

Please send:

  • Swimsuit (already under clothes if possible)

  • Towel

  • Change of clothes (including underwear)

  • Water shoes or sandals (recommended)

  • Refillable water bottle

  • Sunscreen - already applied before drop-off and to be applied again

Wednesday – Serving Our Community

On Wednesday, we'll stay closer to home as we learn about Annie Armstrong and North American missions. We'll spend the morning serving at the White Hall Food Pantry, then visit the BCM at UAPB/SEARK,

where we'll learn how college students are being reached with the Gospel. We'll also spend time talking about how to share our own testimony and what it means to tell others about Jesus. We will be eating pizza for lunch.

Please send:

  • Comfortable clothes

  • Tennis shoes

  • Refillable water bottle

Thursday – Arkansas Baptist Missions

Our last day takes us to Little Rock! We'll tour the Arkansas Baptist State Convention offices, learn how our church works together with other churches to support missions through the Cooperative Program, visit Arkansas Baptist Family Ministries, and complete a fun scavenger hunt along the way. We'll also stop for lunch at Chick-fil-A mid-day for lunch.

Please send:

  • Comfortable clothes

  • Tennis shoes

  • Refillable water bottle

A Few Reminders

Please send your child each day with:

  • Their Bible

  • A refillable water bottle

  • A backpack to carry their Bible, Missions Camp workbook, water bottle, and anything they receive throughout the week.

We'll provide transportation, lunch, snacks, and all admission costs each day.

Thank you for trusting us with your child. I'm praying that next week is more than just a fun few days. My hope is that our kids leave with a bigger understanding of God's heart for missions and realize that they can pray, serve, and share Jesus wherever God has placed them.

If you have any questions before we get started next week, don't hesitate to email me at jennifer@fbcwhitehall.com

I can't wait to see what God does through our kids next week!
